Dates -Friday June 2nd , Saturday June 3rd, and Sunday June 4th 2017

This is a seven year program that is dedicated to teaching youth the love of fly fishing and the importance of conservation.  It's called the Campfire. In 1940, a group of anglers saw that the knowledge of Fly Fishing could die out if young people were not encouraged to learn.  This program is a mentoring program with an adult sponsor who is present at the camp with the student.  Meals and cabins are provided as well as three 3 hour instructional periods starting on Friday night.  The NY State Chapter of BOJC is co-ed.  Campers should be 8 years old to start the program, but can be as old as 10 or 11. The camp is located in Roscoe, NY at Timberlake West. Parents/mentors that have a girl or a boy interested in attending camp should become members, membership for BOJC is $10 a year.  Anyone interested in becoming a member should get me your address so I can add you to the yearly mailings. You can support this program without attending the campfire. Just fill out the membership application and submit your dues. All members will be mailed a camp application in the spring to attend the campfire weekend.

If you would like to become a member and consider sponsoring a girl or a boy contact John Waldron at  flyfishjohn@aol.com  or Kevin Miller at millwoodbuilders@aol.com.  A brochure outlining the program can be sent to you and registration materials are mailed out in the Spring. The camp is very affordable and includes classes (all class material is provided- rods reels and fly tying materials, all meals thru the weekend, cabins, prizes that the campers receive, stocked trout and plenty of good times and good memories.

If you would like to support the program or have a boy or girl to sponsor contact John Waldron at flyfishjohn@aol.com.  A brochure outlining the program and if needed registration materials for the weekend will be sent to you when you become a member.
